The Kitabanga Project is a Sea Turtle Study and Conservation project, designed and implemented since 2003 by the Biology Department of the Faculty of Sciences of the Agostinho Neto University, in partnership with the Kissama Foundation, and more recently with the Namibe Fisheries Academy, and has the consent of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment.
University professors and students participate directly in it, and it also counts with the involvement of members of the local communities where the project has been acting.
